“People don’t resist change. They resist being changed.”

I believe in making change an aspiration, not an obligation.
My work as a strategic designer has seen me wrangle a slew of different industries, projects and stakeholders. I’ve transformed companies, products and people, always working collaboratively, empathetically and with impact.
The secret to success has been to lead projects that stakeholders are excited to be part of, and propositions that customers find intrinsically compelling.
Through my work, I’ve built up deep industry knowledge of infrastructure and education amongst other things. And by designing and launching my own products on the side, I can draw on my lived-experience to help clients traverse the innovation landscape.
With thoughtful design, I believe we can leave this world in a better state than we found it.
Diverse perspectives just build better outputs.
My facilitation and workshop design skills get the most out of everyone, from prickly stakeholders to quiet employees. And by creating workshop experiences that people enjoy, collaboration changes from an obligation to a preferred way of working.
Speaking with customers and communities is rich well of insight and inspiration.
I use techniques such as switch interviews and provocative prototyping to build a deep understanding of customers, and then turn those learnings into actionable and engaging research outputs that teams actually use.
Organisations and communities are full of gifted, but disconnected, individuals.
When they connect, new potential is realised. Through my social nature and collaborative working style, I establish the connections that start to unlock the collective potential of organisations.
Complexity is an antidote to action.
By avoiding jargon, drawing analogies and thinking visually, almost any problem can be made digestible and accessible to all. And when we “get it”, we can fix it.
When working collaboratively, every contributor is an asset.
To get the best out of my teams, I tap into peoples natural motivations, ambitions and energy, and empower them to try, learn and grow. I believe in leaving every organisation more capable than when I arrived.
Stakeholders may guide projects, but customers need to lead them.
I bake in regular testing opportunities to every project so that we are always building and learning our way towards genuine customer progress.
Now more than ever, we’re seeing an intent from the business community to do good.
Organisations have the opportunity to make a positive impact at scale, and so wherever possible, I aligning project outcomes with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Strategy decks don’t make an impact on their own.
I ensure stakeholders are aligned, informed and excited to take the next steps. The key to momentum is designing for the existing conditions of an organisation so that projects thrive, not perish.
Projects are a powerful way to build relationships.
Unlike some other consultants, I don’t cut ties when the project ends. I stay connected and regularly check in to ensure they’re still moving, still confident and still aligned. Through advice or action, I help keep things on track long after the “engagement” is over.
I’m a CX specialist and human-centred designer, with plenty of soft skills to complement the hard ones:
